| Message from the Board
Posted on: 2009-11-11
Bella Vista Homeowners Greetings. I’m Paul Fletcher, President of the Bella Vista Homeowners Association. We’ve had a very good year in Bella Vista and we’re now bracing for whatever Mother Nature brings us this winter. Your Board of Directors meets each month to address the issues that our neighbors bring forward. We strive to be open and transparent in all of our proceedings and to provide comprehensive minutes of the monthly meetings. You can find the meeting minutes posted here on the website. Our neighborhood’s governance is only as good as the volunteers that come forward and give of their time. My hat is off to our Board of Directors who meets regularly to address the complaints that come forward and works to make our community a better place in which to live. We also thank the many chairpersons who help with landscaping, the directory, architecture, neighborhood security, the annual picnic, and snow removal. To that end, we are in need of a snowplow chairman now that Charlie McCoy has stepped down after over 10 great years of battling the winter snows. If you’re interested in filling this position, please contact any one of the directors. Thanks to Charlie, we have a comprehensive summary of responsibilities and points of contact so no one has to start from ground zero. There are also two individuals who have experience and helped Charlie in the past and will continue to do so in the future. Until we have a new chairman, the leadership responsibilities are being carried out by the board of directors in addition to our regular duties. Please help! Continuing in the volunteering vein, we’re going to need two new directors this coming spring to replace folks who have served the past three years. So, please look at your schedules, get ready for our annual meeting in early March, and please consider raising your hand and serving your community in a formal fashion as a member of our board. For those of you who attended our annual picnic in September, I hope you had a wonderful time. This is the only organized annual event our neighborhood undertakes, and those who’ve attended in the past have, by and large, had a special time every year. If you have suggestions for how to make the picnic better or if you want to volunteer to help set up, cook, or tear down, please contact our picnic chairpersons, Steve Paul and Wendell Harrell. We all owe a special thanks to both Steve and Wendell for their tremendous work to coordinate and pull this event together—THANKS!! We have several new neighbors who have moved in the past year, and I want to welcome each of them to the most beautiful neighborhood in all of Spokane! If you’re new and haven’t secured a copy of our governing covenants, please contact any one of the directors, or download them from our website and please read through them. We also have copies of our directory which contains the names, addresses and phone numbers of our neighbors along with a lot of good information on our community. Our Board of Directors thanks each of you for keeping our community beautiful and great place to live. If you ever have a question or complaint, please contact us through Premiere Property Services so we have record of the issue and can properly track the responses. Have a happy holiday season and coming new year!!

2009-2010 Snow Plow Activity - road closure - up date Dec. 14, 2009
Posted on: 2009-11-10
Good evening. I've talked to the other two snowplow members and the weather forecaster at Fairchild AFB and have just given Mike Stam the go ahead to plow as the snow accumulates through the night. I asked to him to hold off as long as possible and I would expect he'll start some where around 3-4 AM. Please post on our website. Have a great evening.
Well, neighbors, winter is fast approaching. Hopefully, we will see less snow this winter here in Bella Vista than the near record amounts of last year. After careful consideration the Board chose to have the same snow plow contractor we have used the past several years, Inland Northwest Landscape Inc., handle our plowing this year. Here are a few facts that may be helpful:
-- We generally call out the snow plow(s) when there is a 3 inch or more accumulation. The amount of snow does vary according to elevation within Bella Vista.
-- We aim for plowing to take place so that the private roads are cleared in advance of heavy traffic times i.e. morning/evening commutes; errand running on the weekends.
-- When to plow involves 'judgement calls' regarding timing and what course Mother Nature will take. We get it right a fair share of the time, but not always. -- If you have a request or complaint, please address it to a Snow Plow Committee member, not directly with the plow operator. Our names and numbers are listed below.
Check this web page for up-dated activity which will be posted real time as needed. Note: with the possible snow this week the gate will be close today - sorry for the late notice but that is the weather for ya!
Have a good and safe winter,
Your Snow Plow Committee Greg Taylor November Paul Fletcher December Evan Sorensen January Dave Platt February
